Mark Tuesday, November 26 on your calendar for Downtown Appleton’s 43rd Annual Christmas Parade. The event never disappoints and seems to outdo itself year after year. The Parade always has a theme, and this year it’s “A Storybook Christmas.” The parade will start at 6:20 p.m. on the corner of State Street and College Avenue. It will continue east on College all the way to Drew Street.
This year’s parade is expected to have roughly 80 different units ranging from floats, decorated vehicles, marching bands, and even groups that feature animals. The event is the largest nighttime parade in the Midwest. Last year, the parade saw nearly 80,000 spectators fill College Avenue and they are expecting a similar turnout again this year. So if you want a good spot, it is best to head down early!
Following the parade (approximately 7:45 p.m) the City of Appleton will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in City Park. Enjoy Christmas carols sung by members of the Appleton East chorus, live reindeer, and Santa & Mrs. Claus handing out candy canes to the children.
Help bring in the holiday season with a magical night filled with holiday cheer!
